Hi,

Is it possible to increase the input sensitivity of a 606 mkII to 1,5V or maybe even 2V?
My tube preamp has a rather high output. So I am not able to use many clicks on the volume.

Claus.

Hello Claus,

The input sensitivity is set by R11. Increasing the value will reduce the sensitivity. But you can't increase the value to much. 22Ohm, which will bring the sensitivity down to about
1.5V is a save value.

R11 has to be the desired input sensitivity in Volt x 15.

22Ohm works absolutely perfect. And as it happens to be also the smallest value I had in stock :-)
Splendid.

Thanks a lot,

Just out of interest, why do you change R11 as opposed to changing R1 to 2k?

Because it lowers the gain, instead of just attenuating the input, which increases the noise level.
