My QUAD44 doesn't out sound of left channel.

MON mode is no problem.

Switch the BAL mode, left channel doesn't sounds out.

Connect the tape out REC channel, so rec source is sounds out both of channel.

I guess the problem is tone-control section.

Is there anyone who knows the cause?

There are dozens of possible causes but one is a bad coupling capacitor. You'll just have to probe the board until you find where the signal disappears.

Dear EJP.

Thank you for your reply.

Is coupling capacitors are C402&C403?

Not if you've isolated the problem to one channel and the tone board. The capacitors you mention are PSUde-coupling capacitors. I am speaking of C500/1/10/11/22/23, or if you have the later horizontal tone board, C702/3/6/7/18/20/31/35.

Highly likely the balance fader of the 44 is the culprit. I very carefully took mine completely apart; subsequently cleaned it (isopropyl alcohol) with satisfying results overall. Refer to www.quadrevisie.eu/quadrevisie.html#17

PS on a different note: why is it so excruciatingly hard to place hyperlinks in this forum? The interface seems somewhat archaic - time for an update?
