Dear all,

Consider the purchase of the memory module QF4PCB7. Read that the excisting ic-base must be replaced. Wonder if it is neccassary?

It is not clear to me what the reason is. PCB is not damaged by a leaking battery.

Who can provide me with clarity?

It is necessary because the round pins of the new PCB are thicker than the flat pins on the old one, and won't fit into the old socket.
