I bought 2 defective QUAD66 (a Mk1 and a Mk2) for a small price on the german ebay-kleinanzeigen (same as marktplaats.nl). Both show the same fault: light is on, no sound, no display. I found wrong switching ICs in the Mk2. 4066 instead of 4016. Looks like the mainboards are damaged. does anyone have an idea what the false ICs had done to mainboards?

It was a two in one deal. maybe the preowner swapped the amplifierboards and killed the mainboards.

4066 and 4016 are pin compatible and the swap should not cause any issues. The 4066 is a lower on resistance part and has less on resistance variation over voltage which should result in lower distortion.
