I just read the article OPA134 pin 8 in Quad revisions / upgrades.

The article suggests to cut pins 1, 5 and 8 of every OPA134 in a 34 or 306.

For cutting off pins 1 and 5 no reason is given.

But not only for the OPA134 should we do this, whenever we use aOPA134, OPA604 or OPA627 we should cut off those pins.

Is this advice still valid ? What do we win if we really do this ?

Perhaps I should clarify my question a little.

I can understand why the offset trim pins and the nc pin are not used, that is not my concern.

My question is actually, does it benefit the sound/stability when I cut off these pins when the solder joints are not connected to other components.

No it doesn't. It suggests to cut pin 8, and ensure pins 1 and 5 are not connected.

Nothing about the OPA134 or 34 or 306 has changed since the blog post was written.

Your question is answered in the blog post.
