Hello. I have successfully upgraded my Quad 33 with the Dada kit and everything works fine, apart from the balance pot (I will probably de-solder it) and a constant hum coming from the right channel. I switched the amplifier boards (I use Radio 1 and 2) but the hum is still present on the right channel. Where shall I look next?

Hello,

If the hum was not there before the revision it is probably due to a soldering-problem.

I would check all the soldering-joints of the new components with a magnifying glass and / or a multimeter

Swap the two amplifier boards. If the problem moves it is in one of them. If it doesn't, it is in the Tape Adapter board.

Done! Both a bad interconnect cable and a cold solder on the tape board were the reasons for the hum. Everything ok. Got a question about the balance pot though: in case I want to reinstall it, do I just measure the resistance across the legs and turn the shaft to the middle (eg 0.5kΩ) ?
