If i wanted to commission a company to make some high quality 909 inductors (Duelund ect), would the Quad Inductor specs in the service manual be adequate? I could also mail them the stock inductors. Would those things be enough to work with to reverse engineer some new inductors?

Or are there additional specs they would require?

Hello. Can you explain why you would want to do this?

Because the stock Chinese inductors are rather crummy (low quality).

What is your evidence for this claim?

Here's what John W from IAG had to say;

"I can state for a FACT that nobody currently at IAG has ANY idea how the Quad current dumping circuit really works. Do you know that while they where clearing out an office in China they through away the original patent applications and related paperwork for Quad, so little respect for the golden years of the UK HiFi industry. They changed the inductor vendor to a local China source, while in basic parameters it measures the same as the original UK parts, less salient but sonically more important parameters such as magnetic hysteresis are much worse, one of the reasons for the poorer SQ. The inductor that bypass the input transistors Emitter is particularly bad. John".

Ah! Ah! Ah!

Eyes open on ebay, alibaba. Those patents should come up any day.
