Hi.

When quad serviced my 33 recently I asked if they had any new lamp covers. They said they had a handful only so they would have to charge me £20.

I know that sounds bonkers but my 33 is otherwise like it was bought yesterday, mint as mint could be so I wanted to have it perfect and my current logo was cracked here and there.

Anyhow, the "new" one they've installed has a big crack across it which is really obvious with the bulb on.

Perhaps I should ask them to replace it again if they can, but just in case that's a dead end, does anyone know how to restore them?

I have no idea how one would cleanly paint around the depressed lettering. Perhaps there is a special way of doing it? Hopefully if I use new paint it will be more sturdy.

Humm I know I repainted the back lettering in the yellow plastic sheet, when I serviced my 33, some years ago. It was quite easy, but the letters were "outstanding" or flushed out, lacking a better term.

But the front logo is quite hard to fix that way. I'd try and try again, the replacement by QUAD.

Best of luck!

Quad sent me another one and I fitted it just now. Happy days.

Hi,

that's great news. Congrats!

The logo in my 33 is relatively in good condition. The minor scuffs on the paint gives it a certain character.

But I'd definitely order a new back panel. It's cracked in one place and there are a few of the small plastic studs, missing.

Cheers,
