I am connecting my Quad 33 (Dada upgraded) to a Leak Stereo 20 with input of 125mV so need to reduce the Quad amp output sensitivity by 11db.  I do not want to use attenuators, as I understand that these reduce the sound quality of the Leak.

Any suggestions, please?

The gain of a Quad 33 is nominally 5, for 100mV input and 500mV output, given by (R411+R412)/R412, and can be adjusted by varying these resistors, keeping their sum approximately constant, in the vicinity of 2.2K ohms.

However the real problem here is the Leak, and it will continue to be a problem with any preamp other than Leak's own (Point One and Varislope), which are of aesthetic or historical interest only. Many Leak owners reduce the sensitivity to something more reasonable like 500mV or even 775mV (0dBm). This is easily done and I have carried it out for most of my Leak customers.
