Hi,

my 44 has a load of issues.
Firstly with the square wave on AUX input and all filters on cancel, on outputs, one channel has square wave skewed to indicate HF roll off and the other channel has square wave skewed to indicate LF roll off !

If I flex the main board the fault disappears both channels.
Looks like a dry joint but which point in the circuit would effect both channels and in such different ways ?

Bizarre.
I wonder what it could be? The joints look fine from what I can see.

cheers,
Paul.

Tap with the handle end of a screwdriver on the board, maybe there is a specific location to start. There could be multiple weak joints, in a 66 preamp this is common. Most likely the fault occurs arond the filter or tilt section. See the service manual for the board layout. If the unit is above serial 23000, a good place to start is resoldering the three potmeters.
