Hi Guys new to the forum but already looks real interesting, just ordered the kit for my 33 revision I was wondering if there were any recommended updates or service for the FM3. I have already identified the Bridge rectifier, Smoothing caps and the Zener diodes for replacement.

Might replace the bulbs with LED's as well anything else recommended.

Thanks in advance

Ian B.

We don't do an FM3 kit, but there is a blog article about it here: http://quadrevisionspot.blogspot.com/search?q=FM3

Replacing the diodes or the bridge rectifier doesn't improve anything (if they are not broken) but there are 3 electrolyte capacitors that are worn out and need to be replaced, C110 and C111 (with 1000µF 25V Axial) and C121 (with 470µF 16V).

It is better to replace the light bulbs with new ones instead of LED's as they give a more beautiful light.

Well, it's generally a good idea to replace Zener diodes in power supplies, as we do in the Quad 33, 303, 405, 606, 707, 909. They can acquire all sorts of strange behaviour in the long term.
