My Quad 66 has finally died. For a while it would not respond to the remote until it had "warmed up". Now the front display lights up but is blank.

I emailed Quad in the UK to see it they could tell me what the casue was but they never replied.

I know others have had this issue, can anyone help?

Hello,

If the unit is not revised, it is difficult to tell, could be a Psu issue or cold joints. The 66, especially the mark I is famous for it. Looking for could joints is a time consuming business, with the associated costs. So first check if all the voltages are ok, then start looking for cold joints. Using a warm hairdryer to look for problems could speed up the process.

Best regards

Of course the first step is doing a revision replacing the worn-out components, mainly the electrolyte capacitors.

66 revision kits in 2 versions are available in the Webshop.

Hi, I have a quad 66 second series that remains frozen. From the checks I made I suppose it's a software problem. it mounts a chip 24LC02 and a 87C652; can someone provide me with the 24LC02 software? thank you all
