For replacement of the 2 bulbs for the display, the service manual of the CD66 gives only partnumber BB515MB. What kund of bulbs (neon? 5V? W?????) can I put in?

Hello,

You need these:

Instructions how to fit are in the 66 preamp revision manual.

Best regards

Thanks for the information, Joost! The lamps still work, only the lumination of the CD-display is not that strong, so I thought maybe replacement of the two lamps will help. Any experience with it?

Hello,

The illumination of the lamps wil declaine. They will 'blacken', so new lamps will help!

My Quad 66 preamp display stopped working in toto - all gone, no fade out or dimming or uneven lighting, just nada, all other functions continue performing well and sounding clean. Would this indicate burned out lightbulbs - both going out at once - or a deeper problem? Are bulbs screw in type? You posted a picture of an led with strands... Thanks

Hi,

After bulb replacement, my CD66 display remained pretty dim.

This is the light box that becomes uneffective in reflecting the bulb light (the plastic becomes yellow).

A solution was to replace the bulbs with bright orange leds.

White leds won't work, giving a white display!
